Wah, sounds very sweet and romantic ley. And you can cook ah? Tempura tricky you know? The batter very important.

So, your lady friend leaving today? How? Sad or not? Is it long distance relationship? Sorry ah, if I tread too much already. Can ignore my question one, no hard feelings. Wink

How come you are not working this summer? Lucky ah. Most of the students got to pitch in for their tuition fees ah.

Good evening stellazio. You took a nap ah. Wait can sleep again or not?

Snoozing in class, teacher boh punish ah? Like that, got to keep healthy lifestyle then can concentrate mah. I think you don't keep late nights already lah. So, say good night here, okay?

Nite nite. Rest well. Wink

i would love to work .... infact, found a job grading first year computer science assignments actually .... but two words :Summer School ....

Yeah, I can't stand hot weather either, and the steamy weather we're experiencing this summer has me withering. Ideally, I'd like to live in a region of the US where the temperature ranges between 50ºF and 70ºF year-round, as I find that to be my optimal "comfort zone." Mr. Green

Don't get me wrong: living in any of the coastal cities going to be astronomically expensive. However, I'd imagine that the cost of living in the west coast cities like LA and SF is marginally cheaper than NYC because of the greater geographic spread of those cities. Working in either LA or SF doesn't necessarily mean working downtown; in fact, you're more likely to be living in one suburb and commuting to your place of work in another suburb.

I don't know if NYC is "the place to be" for someone pursuing a career specifically in photography. A professional photographer probably travels frequently, and doesn't need to be "based" in a particular locale.

But I could be wrong.

oic..........take your time lah and enjoy the friendship. Don't rush. It's been said this is the sweetest moment. Once "confirmed" together, we tend to take each other for granted. Familiarity breeds contempt mah.

Summer job good enough mah. If work year round, may affect studies eh? Well, depending how many credits you are taking lah. At least next time can say "got Canadian experience".

Oh, you are in IT ah? Eh, network security higher pay leh. Job also more interesting.

Laughing , batter came in a box ah? Never mind lah. At least you still can follow the instructions successfully. Wink

I am curious: how did Ayako and you initially meet?

Well, one thing that's making me think really hard is that while going through some of the websites of companies offering internships, I've gotta send a resume or somethin.

resume??? I've got no resume!! That's why I want to be an intern and learn stuff! Confused

I just don't get it Neutral

Fatum SG

it's SOP .... you'd need a resume for everything .... everyone should start a resume from O'levels on and update it constantly .... Smile

kopiosatu SG

resume for being a photographer? Confused

Fatum SG

a friend of mine at U of T applied for a summer job washing the hostel's toilets .... they asked her for a resume ......

you should have a short one page one that you'll fire off to fish for an interview ... then a thick one with everything including pics you took that you'll call a portfolio i suppose ....

Very Happy

littlestream SG

Aiyah, kopio........resume over in North America is very broad lah. Even my son has a resume!!! It doesn't necessarily mean you have relevant experience or education. More like a breakdown of your life lah. Even volunteer work, summer job, anything that you have done that is worth mentioning, relevant or otherwise, can be documented.

So, yes, kopio, you MUST prepare a resume. There are many sites offering tips to write one. I can help you.......for a fee. Embarassed

kopiosatu SG

I guess anywhere would do for me, I just want to get training.
Whether or not that person wants to train is a different issue. I just gotta know where can I go to get lessons. Not Singapore please.

kopiosatu SG

geez, i don't have any resume right now... thanks to Singapore, I've just got worthless toilet paper.

Thanks to my job now, I rarely head out to take photos.

I figured that if I can't head overseas for any internship, maybe locally there's a place. But I don't really appreciate local photographers works.

Either that or I prefer ang mohs in photos Laughing

the Bear SG

heh heh...

if i were to quit my job, and i need to put stuff in my CV, my main strength would be: the ability to intimidate people Razz

and other strengths would be: the ability to browbeat a person into submission, the ability to extract a confession Razz

like that how? Laughing

but i like my job... it's the senior management that is screwing things up Mad

Fatum SG

you should join ISD .... the matas would assign you to their interrogation unit ... Very Happy

Meia Gisborn SG

Or become a Party Protocol Enforcer for the PAP.
