In my line, nobody's heard of the word "schedule". 
The sad fact of the matter is that proper diction would render one
unintelligible amongst the natives.
Case in point from my secondary school days:
I've stopped at a bicycle shop to tighten a loose bolt: "Excuse me,
could I borrow a wrench?".
"Har?"
(louder to combat traffic noise) "A wrench!"
"Har?"
"A wrench.... a spanner"
(Utterly and completely glazed and nonplussed stare)
"A spannah?"
"Orh - next time say porperly lah!"
Some days I despair.
