Why is 'cordon' pronounced as 'cor-dnn', and not
'cor-don'?
Why is 'condone' pronounced as 'con-don' and not 'con-dan' (as in
'done').
Why is 'come' not pronouced as 'comb' (as in 'home'), but as
'calm'?
