Recently I notice most of the restaurant round up the total bill
charges instead of round it down if you pay in CASH!
Maybe this has happend many years but I did not really border it
untill recently I started to look into this matter.
For example: total bill S$ 54.17, you paid $54.20, $86.76, you
paid $86.80, $ 63.58, you paid $63.60.
This increased the profits for the restaurant if you pay in
CASH!, if you pay by NETS or Credit Card, you will not get panalty
for pay in cash.
This is not too etchical because if you pay in cash, the
restaurant do not need to pay additional charges by credit card
company or NETS, so the restaurant should incentive those people
who pay in cash and give them a round down instead of round UP.
If there are 100 customers served who prefer tp pay in cash,
said average $0.02 per customer, one day additional profit is
$2.00, 1 year additional profit is $730.00.
Should the restaurant round up or round down for cash payment
customer?
