I guess it depends on your activities or, more to my preference,
your non-activity! hehehe!
BTW, I tend to dislike those package tours that follow a rigid
schedule. 
I'd rather do tours free and easy. Grab a
good guidebook like Lonely Planet's, surf websites, at my leisure
compile a short list of 'must-go' and 'must-try' and 'must-eat'
stuff, and then see how it goes. 
Maybe, that's why I love to return to the same few places for a
thoroughly relaxed vacation. And then, when the mood hits, to try
out a new, adventurous spot.
Casually planned or totally spontaneous, it's all fun if the
company's right.
