SydneyLibrarian SG Do you socialise with your work colleagues? Why / why not? I've recently started going out for lunch / outings with some of my colleagues, it makes the office a more fun place to work in when you know a person a lil' bit better!
charlize SG Good excuse to reject work passed down from the boss. "But I paid for your lunch yesterday."
pinkygal76 SG OF COZ... its better to make more frenz than enemies ....... striking a good rapport wif colleagues helps to get things done faster too! HAVE FUN AT YR WORK PLACE!
FireIce SG yep we go lunch everyday the few residents some will be away for appointments so can't join us after work we oso go eat dinner sometimes we go ktv.....play pool.....cheong........la kopi.....
tare SG current place: lunch yes... after work nope... but of cos i did have some friends [not just colleagues] frm previous work place... one of them bec one of my best friend even.... but tis is afterall not the norm....
thoreldan SG me and another colleague are based at user's site permanently one. but he very boring one leh, i also dunno what to chat with him at work... those very guai kia type
Wanda SG Used to socialise with colleagues after work...that was when I worked in a commercial company with more fun people. Would go to pubs, dinner, go to each other's house and rot. Now...no, the ppl all quite boring, or maybe bec I'm work closely to big boss, so they dun trust me.
the Bear SG some of mine only thing, time does not permit it coz i work shifts and they either don't or work in a different shift pattern
Rhonda SG I do go out for lunch and even after-work activities with my colleagues. In all the different places I've worked in, I always make friends and I keep in touch with those who are closer to me.
Camellias4me SG Too much. Me & my ex-colleagues still goes for supper regularly. Dats y red bombs, red eggs, birthdays, hsewarmings etc etc like neverending even though i left the co. yrs ago. Cannot siam..
dragg SG used to go out with my colleagues regularly, even short trips. but i left the company.... it is nice to socialise but it does not hurt to be wary....
littlestream SG I think I am the "kor-tak" one. I do not extend colleague-ship outside of the office. They call me ice princess. I do not hang around water cooler, nor make small talks in the morning. Me talks only when spoken to type or on official business. But when it comes to my friends, ho ho.....here comes the social butterfly! I guess I need to reserve all that energy from workplace to personal social life. Otherwise........boh kau eng.
Rhonda SG Really? Wah... I find that soooo hard to believe! How do you resist being friendly to colleagues, especially when they are friendly people too?
Rhonda SG dragg, you're very right. There will inevitably be a handful amongst your colleagues whom you should never trust and let down your guard. Really have to be discerning!
littlestream SG Banks very conservative ah. And the environment very quiet one. No "king klang" sound one. If one talks too loud, can get slammed by the "neighbours". Not resistance, I keep a very low profile. But strangely, my name always get mentioned. Our Bank has this "Applause" program, i.e. your "service" (work) getting recognized by "internal clients". Well, I get lots of that. I have a reputation for making things happen and pronto. Okay, better stop before my head can't get out of the door.
SydneyLibrarian SG Wah... so good ah... congrats Like that, you're a valuable asset to your company wor!
InnoHippo SG kinda weird that I socialise more with my ex-colleagues than my current colleagues perhaps, I can feel I can talk more freely with ex-colleagues
