Saw an interesting programme on TV the other night on saving
tips - thought we can share some tips with each other on how we
save $$
- To prevent impulse buying - use a shopping list and stick to
it
- Switching to generic brands can also help, even if it is only the
staples such as milk, flour and sugar
- Buying meat at the wet market / butcher instead of at
supermarkets
- Turning off appliances at the power point when not in use can
save you heaps
- Dripping showers and taps can also be expensive - get them fixed
asap!
- Wash your laundry in cold instead of warm or hot water
- Buying lunch can be a huge expense - as much as $10 per day. Try
taking your lunch from home just twice a week, and you could save
as much as $1,000 a year.
- Having a credit card debt of $1,000 in the course of one year
will cost you about $180. Pay your card bill on time to save easy
money.
