forget the broadband. Scan for any generous neighbours who did not encrypt their wireless broadband. Then can share their network. Dun watch the movies in SG. Watch in JB city square lor. Weekends RM$10 only. Weekdays RM$6. Or better still, buy those * ahem * DVDs, 1 for RM$8 , Buy 5 get 1 free. Free delivery to SG when buying 20. meaning RM$160 for 24 DVDs, free delivery to SG somemore. Twisted Evil

All these money saving tips are great .

Except when I manage to save on one item, I always find something else to splurge on.

Thus, net saving = 0 .... if I'm lucky, sometimes deficit somemore.

Bo bian. I blame shopaholic tendencies.

However I agree that DVD rental / purchase at low price (don't ask how) is one of the best ways to save on entertainment, given prices of movie tickets.

Keep track of yr expenses. Check yr bank statement. Make sure withdrawals are less than deposits.
Don't carry too much cash when u go out or even better don't bring credit card, then u won't get tempted.
Best solution- marry an auditor/ accountant like my sis. They are good at money management & investing your money Very Happy

This thread is about simple saving tips. If the people want to do it, its their own choice. What I had pointed out, I"m sure the policeman in this forum is well aware of. Heck , you dun even need to travel across the causeway. We have home grown enterprising pirates who are still poly students or undergrad making use of their DVD burners.

across the causeway is cheaper though. Rather than buying the dvds, I rather watch the movies in the cinema there and enjoy the food there. The cinema is by cathay management. Even the ticketing software is SG software. Still can see our currency picture on the screen.

Dun buy clothes in SG unless you are buying international brands, where the price is the same almost everywhere. Make a annual trip to Bangkok for shopping of the entire year's clothes, bags, shoes etc. Even with the hotel and airfare factor in, the cost of the annual trip will be almost the same as a yr's shopping bill in Spore. And still get a short holiday to BKK . And the yummy food there. Twisted Evil

dragg SG

ok. but after i finished charging.
