Rhonda SG The first time I cooked Japanese, I used this cookbook by Kurumi Hayter, "Japanese Cooking for Two". The recipes turned out to be very simple, straightforward, and success is almost guaranteed! I first borrowed that book from the library, then I loved it so much and kept re-borrowing it that I decided to get a copy.

littlestream SG Tonkatsu is it? That one is easy. But tempura is tricky. You must remember to put the batter (in its bowl) in a bowl of ice water. Good luck and have fun.
