This one very strange. Initially may forget once or twice. But once seasoned, it is like automatic. Sometimes, I don't even remember pressing and when I look at the meter, it is already on.

Now you press, last time, we have to pull a level to make the number dial back to zero. Meter no issue lah, it is your begging bowl, if you keep forgetting sooner or later, you will feel the pain, automatically, you will remember for life…like pressing bak bak neh neh

There are 2 types of learning people, one is proactive type, learned before the actual happening, one is pre active, learned only when one get the pain, lost and burnt.

But as long as you learn from your mistake, be it pro or pre, does not matter much. The worrying part is some die people can never learn even you burnt them alive, like gambling, womanizer, drinker, and so on.

Yes u still can forget to press the meter,sometimes paxs will distract u by talking to u,then when going to reach,then only they informed u,uncle u never press meter.Then when ask how much the usual fare,will give u a ridiculous low amount.

I always make sure td starts the meter. Reminded a few. Cos i hardly take cab so can't estimate fare.

As I said, after a few times no start, you will feel the pain, because like my mentor cum brother ah fool said, you will be shortchanged by pax on the fare if you do not on the meter, with no meter, pax can even said, zero, that is how the laws apply.

Same like you go supermarket, if cashier receipt come out zero, you also do not need to pay anything. But most pax are reasonable, they will pay a certain amount, and you cannot further argue becauseâŚit is your fault. So, as you go along and forget pressing meter, the pain of losing will creep into you, end up, die die also you learn to press..understand bo..that is how my mentor ah fool learned

Drive taxi, dun go hardup for all these $2 or $1 stuff, like if CBD erp $1, I also chiong in, can take $3, you also gain $2, the most important is meter is running. Best is earning more than your mileage. If you achieve that, you are my discipline.

Spoke with a nice td recently. He is a retired and drives as relief night shift for 5 days weekly. His target is $70 to $80 daily. He advises me to try on Sunday since no bus lane operational.

Dun talk to retirees lah, 10 old TD, 10 assholes, and I am one of them. Younger TD should talk to younger TD inorder to learn better, we net income $30 to $70 dollars one, forget it, you will become poorer and poorer by listening to them.
