DId average singaporeans know why singapore employers like to
employ foreigners??
from what i know, eg a zhichar shop that employ china nationals
cleaners, counters service staff, get kickbacks for every
foreigners they employs. the kickbacks could go up to
$1000/workers. That is almost equivalent to 1mth of such foreigners
pay. in another workers, these workers get to work for them free
for 1 mth.
The so call foreigns workers pay a handsome fee of up to
30000- 50000 RMB to middleman in china to get them working in
singapore. with a middleman in singapore, they would arrange jobs,
permits to allow them in legally. these middleman fees will be
split among china middleman, singapore middleman and the employers
alike. that is the incentives these middleman waive at the
singapore employers to tempt them should they meet the minimum
requirement of singaporean to foreigners ratio.
If the local authority do not seen or failure to address these
problems,
singaporeans opportunity to work will not be just the problems
of whether our productivity is high, but we also have to pay $$ to
employers to employ us should this problem persist.
