That was an interesting post. When I was in secondary school, I
find the concept of heaven, hell, god, devil to be like a scam. I
did witchcraft, sold my 'soul' to whatever, trampled on qing ming
ashes and offerings for the dead (my sincere apologies - it
happened decades ago). Back then as an little kid, I wanted to
annoy ghosts and see what harm 'spirits' can do to me.
I dont do this anymore out of respect for the living people
around me. My philosophy never changed though - because to me dead
people got no soul and are not humans anymore.
I have always considered natural or unnatural death to be a
bonus. I do not believe in suicide - its for cowards. I can be
murdered or knocked dead by bus. No problem. I do not see it as bad
luck.
Now as a lau uncle, I think I must look rather foolish to become
a ghostbuster. Hey we all need to earn a living. Those days are
over for me. Maybe when I get to retire, I will follow up on this.
But my children will surely stop me. Most people are inclined to
believe in afterlife - even my children.
I always told them there is no such thing as ghosts - dont worry
about walking in the dark, but they are not so sure.
So that is why the job of midnight gravedigging is reserved for
a select few, with my natural disposition.
