It is not authority never protect me, we pay taxes, from income tax to Gst, indirectly, we are paying them to serve us. It is more of a matter that even tho, you called the authority, such cases keep happening, so WHY is it still happening?.

Because authority did not take stern action, in their mind, it is a small matter between a taxi lau and his paxs, best is they go settle themselves, we just remain as statue of Laws.

So, many are not even afraid when you call the cops, because they have experience many times before.

These 2 Malay gals I think purposely dun pay. When I decided to pick them up after several ppl knock on my locked door. They asked me go ponggol roughly how much? I told them n they assure me got enough $$$. Reach already they dig their bag n say only got 15. I told them I send them to police, they say OK. I changed my mind coz what time liao as I need to hand over car at 6am. If they made this fare evasion rule in such a way that the police reimburse me first then I will support this rule. Everyday driving close to 350km...you really think I got time to go police station for follow up during the day.

So stupid to go and report $10 fare evasion case. Report $10 fare loss ( not talking about $10 silver mint souvenior coin ) would result in at least 1 hour loss of income. Also these things do not happen often (every 10000 customers, how many evade?).

Yesterday fetched on customer to casino and I wished him good luck at casino and he immediately wanted to tip me $10 but I rejected him. I told him to only tip (if he wants to) the taxi driver that drives him back home if he wins at casino.

At least 1 time my machine "Cocked up" I also collected a lot less than should collect (difference more than $10).

Like fews months ago got one TD said one customer was so stupid to ask him to drive all the way (with meter on) to his home to collect a less than $10 bag of grapes.

The police officer must be thinking my time to handle cost more than $10 to handle and if it is me, I also would not chase after him or her.

Even though I would not chase after someone who evaded $10, I would avoid drink stores that charges $1.10 for coffee if got another that charges $0.80 nearby.

I also would avoid food stores that purposely marked up food prices. Encountered a few times food stores that purposely marked up curry chicken prices by 50 cents (told me curry chicken not counted as meat but as special meat when everywhere in Singapore it is just ordinary meat price).

1 customer I fetched before told me a store that he frequents charges different price for the same items that he purchased differently everytime (like Uber pricing).

I bring my own foods and kopi, mostly left over from my funeral job, like curry chicken, mee hoon, 3 in 1 kopi, kong bak pao..then drive taxis that time, I can eat…funeral left behind lot of food, so I seldom go kopitiam, only for TCSS or ask for $50, then I will go, because everytime I go, I get farked by Taxi uncles..

How many times have you encountered customers running fares?

I probably already fetched closed to 10,000 customers but never encountered customers running fares but got encounter machine screwed up losses and sometimes started the meter minutes after the taxi moved off.

Be glad nothing happened to u. Just like some people, happened to them once a lifetime - either strike toto 1st prize or crossy road kenna bang and run over.

There are some things you keep counting your blessings because once is enuf to kill u or give u a lifelong bad experience.

Just like my car was never stolen before, or I was never murdered before. Singapore got 5 million people and criminals, like cabbies - will pick n choose their 'destination' n thus your 'destiny'.

Be thankful everyday that u r safe and sound.

TS pax claim that they only left $15, did he make an effort to follow up for the balance?......

So many ways to make sure he get back his rightful fare, he don't want mah, not even ask for phone number, so don't say charity drive......

During my driving years, also met a lot of this kind of pax, will transfer la, will call you la, all kind of reasons, but at least I make an effort......

Many did transfer, some don't, got all the message recorded, just submit to neighbourhood police post, they jin eng one, you will sure get back your fare......

Ever kena 1 AMK, say will transfer, after 2 days, still no sound, no picture, just when I wanted to submit his case, suddenly he text me say done, than I check, don't have leh, piss me off, than I think think, maybe he use foreign bank to transfer, might take 3 days, so I wait first lor......

Truely, he really did a foreign transfer, guess what? He make a 50euro transfer, is not a lot of $ but it makes my day lor.......

You have any idea how many unsolved petty theft cases there are? I was a victim before, made police report, and no no until today, after 2 years it was still missing. The police wrote me a letter and said they were unable to solve the case. So I have many letters, and I know what crimes are important to them, and what crimes are a nuisance and the police wont bother - this is profitable knowledge.

For the taxi fare, assuming $40 for a one-way transfer - you are willing to spend days or weeks scribbling on male toilets and hopefully some gay will call the 'target' and ask him for special service? I dont believe you.

So dont waste time, if the pax run road, straight away go and tackle him down. Dont damage his face - keep it nice and clean for the police. This is the only way to settle it fast.

There are ppl who drink npp coffee every few months, or are even under covert surveillance, these ppl if u met them before, seem relaxed and carry on their lives like nothing happened. They know how far the law can go, so they play accordingly. I always believe - poverty is not a crime. So when i witness crime in action, i always look the other way. Let the police do their job, My assistance comes at a cost, but since there is no reward, i rather ignore.
