Taxis driving for those in their 30s, are mostly just a
transition period only, most of these army or naval former regular
(tio SAF bian ones), come out only, drive
taxis to make a living first, then slowly find a more better and
stable job, thereafter will move on or be weekend relief only.
IMO, taxis driving is not a career, but more
of a stagnate job that provide no advancement and subject to too
much strict regulation.
Like me, after driving for 30years, my young time those ex gfs
and friends are now manager, General management, chief Financial
officer, or chao chao also a senior supervisor, line managers..but
as a TD, still a TD after 30 years on the road. I cannot go hijack
pax and tell the cab behind that I am a lao jiao…he may come down
and fark me lan jiao
