Dear cdg Cabbies
We are upgrading the MDT software to have Unlimited STC and AUTO
BUSY feature from Aug 2015. The software upgrade for the entire
fleet is targeted to complete by early Oct 2015.
What is Unlimited STC?
STC (Soon-to-clear) function in the MDT allows cabby to receive
current job (CJ) offers even with Passenger on Board
(POB).
Presently, our system offers only 1 CJ when STC is activated.
However, with this enhancement, CJ offers will keep coming into the
MDT after the STC is activated.
You are encouraged to use the new STC feature to get your next
booking job and improve your income.
Do note that when STC is activated, if a cabby does not respond
to any of the 10 consecutive CJ offers, the MDT status will
automatically change back to HIRED. Simply press STC button
again to continue to receive more CJ offers.
What is AUTO BUSY and how it works?
We notice that many of our cabbies leave their MDT in mode when
they leave their taxi for breaks, i.e. meal or toilet break.
However, unknown to our system, it will continue to assign jobs to
these empty taxis. This leads to a loss of opportunity for other
cabbies who are ready to get jobs and a longer time to confirm a
taxi for customers.
With the new AUTO BUSY feature, when a cabby time-out or did not
respond to any of the 7 consecutive CJ offers, the MDT will prompt
the first alert message:
When the counter reaches 10 counts, the system will assume that
the cabby is not in the taxi and will change the MDT status to
BUSY. The MDT will display:
How to avoid AUTO BUSY?
(1) Simply BidReject the CJ offers 1 in 10 times to avoid
AUTO BUSY!
(2) The counter will be reset if you turn on the taximeter, put
MDT on BREAK / BUSY or log-off after your shift.
Benefit of AUTO BUSY
The benefits of AUTO-BUSY are as follows:
- Assign job faster and
efficiently
- Cabbies who can accept booking jobs
will have more jobs
- Faster confirmation time for
customers
We are constantly looking into ways to improve our service level
to both our customers and cabbies. Through this, we hope to also
help cabbies to earn more.
