KTC u dont talk until so tua kang hor. Those who take mrt to work cannot afford taxis and bmw. After working long hours and kenna stuck in a stupid train breakdown, worrying about children's dinner, homework, clothes and getting rested for next day work is no joke one. It can make people go from angry to crazy. Your life is too good liao. U can feel their pain or not? Dun use other countries example and ask ppl here shut up. PAP and LHL is fail big time.

Govt of Singapore is alway deem a perfect, no mistakes and die die must get it done working culture, and must be fast too. So naturally, this created a culture of kiasee, kiasu and kia bo bian (scare lose face).

Every society is cultured by the system of the country, and system/policies are created by govt, and people will tends to follow that culture, so if you have a govt that seek perfection at all cost, you will also have citizens that seek the perfection, as they are educated and cultivated in that way.

Therefore, any mistakes in the society is deem failure, and thus, when MRT breakdown, there will be lots of comments and critics because pples here are cultivated in a way that it should not breakdown and if so, WHY??? And such culture is a creation of PAP govt on it citizens, so if you said locals like to complain, so are our govt

If our MRT was owned and run by opposition party. Can u imagine what PAP will say? So it is not we are spoilt. Like bowah said, PAP want high salary and high standards, they must also show us the goods, otherwise expect to get panda eye and bloody nose.

Well, if opposition run MRT, there can be lots of changes, firstly, opposition might reduce foreigners in Singapore, and that is why some said, if PAP lost in the coming election, foreigners would worry the most.

And when there are less foreigner, do you think our MRT will breakdown?? In many countries I been to, there is a positive discrimination in their MRT system, like in swiss, the oldies n handicap are allow in first follow by childrens, pregnant women and so on, in fact if you take train in Malaysia, you see they allow the malay malaysian to board first.
And in India, the rich board first, the poor seat on top of the train.

Base on this, opposition can reduce the load of MRT, provide a more compassionate culture by giving way to the old, childrens and the handicap on first. That will be nice and win win for all.

But today, smlj also chiong in first…so now you know why all these 3rd world foreigners like to come to Singapore, because there is no different with citizens, you almost enjoy what the locals are having. Try that on malaysia or australia,..

Dun care train breakdown, teksi still drive as per normal.

But knn, that day, many taiko. Those normally dun take teksi huan all come and take.

CB, kena so many complain teksi fare so exp. Take pvt car $105 dun complain..pick a pax from AMK ave 10 to holland, fare less than $20..niam niam niam..her earlier fare from orchard by dunno what pvt car cost $105 and she boast to her friend.

Then another cb, orchard to sembawang...tell that fugger, lentor jam, we go in by Woodland Ave 12...accuse me of wanting to go long way...cb..in the end, the fare $42.35...I charge even the 5C...

SG haven't reach that level like Taiwan, US where we have a strong opposition party to govern us.....

Don't be naive, nothing will change even they win and govern this country, becos current system is just too good to be overthrown, if you are the one holding power......

My personal feel......

NSEW line have been build since the 80s, technology wise is already outdated.....

To redo the whole system like NE line and Circle line technology will be crazy......

Goberment know this, people don't acknowledge this, we expect miracle happen, if simply just money can solve this technology thingy, you think our Goberment don't want to do it......

Is almost impossible to "Enbloc" this 2 lines and rebuilt it, if really do that, I think everyday taxi will HUAT HUAT HUAT......

The fundamental of Govt in public transportation like MRT and Bus is wrong. The concept is alway to make profit for shareholders to hv better and higher dividends.

What define a public transport, it is consider people transport, many countries including China, japan and the western countries etc etc, basic public transport are not mend to make profit, it is mend to serve the public movement so as to make people economically viable and for childrens, a way to school, and for oldies, a way to travel. The basic public transport need only to breakeven the cost of operating, more so, if govt is to tax the rich more, the public transport will be enchanced.

However, in Singapore, basic public transport are mend for profit, and that end up by employing Business CEO who will given the target to absolutely satisfy the shareholders first. Therefore, the cost of operation will be cut, from cheaper spare parts to cut or lower wages of employees operating it, and when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
