Ris accident dies
The driver of a taxi that
crashed into a car along Pasir Ris Drive 3 has died from his
injuries, says MP Zainal Sapari.
A taxi driver involved in an
accident along Pasir Ris Drive 3 has died, said Member of
Parliament Zainal Sapari on Monday (May 18).
"Saddened to hear the news
that the taxi driver involved in the accident had succumbed to his
injuries and passed away," wrote the MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC
in a Facebook post. He added that the victim's family shared that
he had been a taxi driver for a long time, and that he was a
careful driver.
Responding to queries from
Channel NewsAsia, Mr Zainal also said that the National Trades
Union Congress will help the driver's family in whatever way it
can.
The driver, who was in his
70s, suffered head injuries and breathlessness in the accident. The
incident near Greenview Secondary School involved his taxi and a
car.
Mr Zainal, who witnessed the
accident on Saturday, and shared footage of the accident from his
dashboard camera on Facebook. The taxi was seen crashing into the
car in front of it before hitting a tree.
