Hi everyone, We view with concern the video of an SMRT Prius
taxi, number plate SHC4090C, that has been shared via social
media.
The incident shown on the video is regrettable. We thank
netizens for bringing the matter to our attention yesterday (2
September 2014), and we immediately investigated the matter.
Our investigation revealed that the relief driver of SHC9040C
was behind the wheel at the time of the incident.
The relief driver’s contract with
SMRT Taxis was terminated today (3 September 2014) upon completion
of our investigation into the matter.
As the taxi partner assigned SHC4090C still drives this vehicle,
we seek your understanding that this driver has nothing to do with
the relief driver behind the incident shown on the video.
We trust that the taxi partner will continue to be allowed to
earn a living driving SHC4090C.
SMRT remains fully committed to upholding a high standard of
service for our commuters and will continue to drive home the
importance of customer service to all our staff. Thank you.
