A Singaporean female undergraduate was allegedly gang-raped by
three Nepalese men in Hong Kong last month, local media reported on
Sunday.
The men, who are in their 20s, were said to have persuaded the
22-year-old student to board a yacht in the Causeway Bay area,
where they proceeded to rape her, said Hong Kong newspaper Sing Tao
Daily.
The alleged victim, who was on a university exchange stint,
had been drinking
alone in a bar in the fashionable Lan Kwai Fong
district where she met the men, the paper said.
She subsequently followed the trio on her own accord to a party
on board the yacht, where they took turns to rape her for
a total of six times.
The victim made a police report the next morning after realising
she was raped and was subsequently taken to hospital for an
examination.
Police have classified the case as rape, and have arrested one
of the men after visiting the bar and reviewing its close-circuit
camera footage. He was due to appear in the local magistrate court
to face rape charges Monday, reported The Standard newspaper.
Another 20-year-old man charged with aiding and abetting the
rape will also due in court, while a 21-year-old man arrested on
suspicion of aiding and abetting has been released on bail, and
ordered to report back to police later this month.
