Relief driver schemes?

Taxi driving is all about hardship , but u'll get better each day ... once u familiarised with routes , u'll be more relief than the 1st 2 months when u dunn...

I m driving 6 days as day relief, paying $46 for toyota crown from comfort. is this normal?

I start after 7am and ends at 5pm. taking a bus to hirer place to collect taxi. sometimes hirer drives until 6.45am before returning for my shift. so its 7am to 5pm for my day shift.

$46 ? depending on the age of the Crown . If beyond 5 year old , it's $44 .

$46 is usually for vehicle under 4 years old .

But if can find a day shift as a relief , even $48 is worth paying for , cos day shift hard to comeby .

besides rental got other things also quite important depending on your preference lah…

after driving with 6 hirers, me picky on 4 things a) which day/time of driving b) wash/diesel arrangement c) chemistry with hirers d)pick up location

Best combi for me is driving Fri nite, no need to wash or top up (just pay him an agreed amount), hirer easy going (best is those very old hirer driving for fun type), pick up at same carpark as me

so far i managed to find 1 hirer who almost met all these…. shiok….

Hi, all seniors - Like to ask or seek for your opinion, I just obtained my TVL licence, thinking of quitting fulltime job as a senior IT admin.but better gain some experience before committed myself as a FT taxi driver. Well, a oldaged hirer offered me to drive as a relief from 6.00 p.m. to 11.30p.m. on his more than 4 yrs old Crown at a rental of $30.00, Is this rental OK with this short hours driving scheme on 2 weekdays and 1 weekend(Sat.). Please advise?

6pm to 11.30pm , then u a slave for him . That's all i summed up .

If u intend to quit IT admin , then do it .

Dare dare chiong like me .... extra pressure means improvement for yourself .

U put a slight pressure into your life , ur life gets exciting , more meaningful , more fruits .

Got what i mean ...

New generation Singaporean , new working concept , new inspirations , new ideas .... if u stick to the old method of surviving , u might just lose out to the new Singaporeans .

for the hirer, may or may not be a good deal for him…. depends on his driving schedule…. e.g. if he omo type then best for him… if he drives only 6am to 6pm type, then you are a hindrance for him to get a more suitable relief

for you, i will take it up just to try out… cant earn much cos short hours…..

Yahloh, I also feels a bit like being bully by this old hag whom been driving taxi for the past 30+ years. He got two relief at day shift and he drove the night shift.

Shemimi , let me guessed , now u're earning so little , as much as $1600 -$1800 , and expenses kept rising , and job shaking ....

My advice : To succeed in life , health is very important !

To do 2 jobs and earn that little bit , and jeopardised your health , and cause your family a little bit of problems , for what ?

Yes , taxi is a terrible job , very tiring , unless u are ALN , that chap Money Alway Not Enough !!!

Got for either job , just 1 !

To earn $2000 as Full Time taxi driver , i would say ...close 2 eyes .

To earn $2500 , u need to stay at least 10 hours on the road .

To earn $3000 , u need to be a OMO , a overall healthy OMO .

To earn $4000 , n need to be a Super OMO , a die young soon OMO .

U decide . Hahaha , sarcastic , but somehow a bit true .

depends on your schedule lah… e.g. are you the type who must sleep at 12am to wake up to work tomor? haha

like if my hirer offers me tue 6pm to 11pm $30…. me grab… cos anyway me tue drive only 6pm to 11pm….

but if i am offered 6pm to 11pm slot for Fri…. then waste time for me….

well not sarcastic at all, it’s reality.
so a green bird like me and no road knowledge, it will been better for me to drive during day’s times. But ironically, most hirers occupied the day’s shift, it supposed I quit my FT job, I’m in a difficult position to find a day shift.

discuss with your family , like what i did when i first started , telling them to bear with you , when u going to switch to as a taxi dvr , and the time will be some odd hour , i encourage u to start as night shift , easier to learn , easier to master , easier to find a cab .

From there , learn learn learn , nothing but learn .

Then when u matured into a mature driver , start hunting for a day shift .

Then life back to normal .

It's youyr family and learning ladder .

How i know ?

Cos i did that ...

And i still loving life as a 2nd shift driver .

And my family accept that fact .

ya, i like night timing becos i’m a night owl.
But for the last few years, I sacrificed my night outing and sleep early as I need to wake early to fetch my son to school. And this year, he sitting for a O level exam that why I need to find a day’ shift hour secondly need to earn some income, you know time are bad.
