Hi all bros,

just gotten my tvdl, am now considering to start driving relief on top of my 9 to 6 job, have been actively lookin out but till now unable to decide which is schedule is best for me.

I have a target to earn 2.5k nett. Do you think by driving sat & sun (5am to 5pm) i can hit this target? Or do i need to add in a couple of weekdays nite driving to add up?

If not i might want to consider driving nite which i think best is fri & sat nite ( which i find is very hard to find hirer to offer)

as i am new, i can forsee i might need weeks to hit my monthly target of 2.5k.

base on current economy situation , $2500 is a 25 days job at least .

I state that base on u start work after 6pm .

Meaning u work next morning 9am , u need go home by 2am .

In 7 hours . it'll be lucky to earn $100 consistently ....

And u are no old bird like us , u are just a raw new bird .

Basically one week can get $250 , more realistic .

One month $1k reasonable .

Saturday nett $125 easy easy

Sunday nett $125 easy easy also .

bro jim, 5am to 5pm on a weekend day, you can rope in 150.00 nett, but must good luck hor, money dun drop from the sky, so count yourself how much you can earn a month

thanks for your feedback.perhaps im too unrealistic :)

now i'm in a discusstion with one hirer for sat & sun 5am to 5pm. so i can request for another hirer to drive say on week days say on tue & fri.(eg 7pm to 2am) Like that it would be more possible to hit closer to my target right, or maybe at least 2k right?

for a newbie like me do you think i should start with day time 5am to 5pm on sat & sun? or focus on night driving?

by the way 'FT' stands for what?

Saturday 5am to 5pm .... u can earn , say nett $150 very good liao .

Sunday 5am to 5pm .... maybe also same .

Weekdays 7pm to 2am , non-weekend u can get like nett $70 .

Friday 7pm to 2am ? Then Saturday 5am start again ? U ok with that ? 3 hours sleep ?

not advise to work like 2 day shift , 2 night shift , and the night shft connect anothe day shift .

It's best u take interval days .. Monday night -Wednesday night - Friday night -Sunday day .

Or Tuesday night , Thursday night , Saturday Day , Sunday day .

Cannot Friday drive 5pm to 5am , then Saturday drive 5am - 5pm shift .

Rest is the most important for cabbies . Any fatigue can cost accident thus lives .

Money or lives , for you ???

Very funny why? all newbies often asked question, how much they can pocket back only they are interested. those 2000 3000 4000.

You already told you are newbie and just wanted to start as zero from bottom.

Taxi driving is just a bit better than those fast food chain that pay by per hour.

Can i ask you what will happen to you tomorrow, the next tomorrow and the next tomorrow.

Even me and all my fellow taxi drivers, also don't know what will be our outing tomorrow.

So please be simple and dun so kiasu and greedy on this new trade that you are veturing only the big buck you are interested.

My recommendation use a gun go to the bank...big bucks this faster and more efficient. Going round by every hour picking up pax on taxi and to their destination, how much can you pocket back, ask yourself.

2500 for 8 days a month..5 to 5! i also want leh..then i no need drive like mad liao...

i driving 5 to 5, everyday except sunday, i only target 3k , 2500, thats a far cry man...i wish i can do that...haha...

Hi to all bros,

yeah i think i'm too unrealistic, but meantime i think i will start with 2 days on sat and sun first and add up the days once i have more road knowledge.

but as poolman suggested, i am still consider the 2 options below:

a. mon nite - wed nite - fri nite - sun day

b. tue nite - thu nite - sat day - sun day

i have revised my target to from 1.5k ..... :)

Nowaday driving is not like last year those days...many drivers coming home with lesser and the profit is thinner. Just let you know..last year data per normal day shift is about 25 to 30 jobs on-call, or street job.

Now sometime below 20 or even less, even less on my day shift.

Record provend my hirer on his record booklet shown less than 200 km or below 150km and coming back at 1.00am and even more early. just and example base on his performance. those days above 250 or 280 km per normal.... weekend like saturday more, near to 300 or more. Now sometime below 100km. He told the many places taxi all round all streets are lightened by the lantern on hire the roof top of the taxi... the street became so bright.

But uncle alvin much better coming back a 4am... so how many mileages he clicked never reveal also you know more than 400..hehe.

So dun focus so high and dun aspect good hope on this trade. It getting worst as like the other.
