wow just this morning took one ang mo and his local wife $45.65 from Hougang ave 3 to Jurong point one stop and second stop jurong east mrt, on-call job at 7.30am. erp from cte total $4.50 and those 35% surcharges... paying for this kind of amount upon reaching the destination not even a sound out from his or her mouths and politely with a big thank you and have a good day... that what i got from them, this show there are many different btw local and peoples from other land.

I took a cab from IMM(Jurong East) to NUS(clementi) at about 8 o'clock in the morning. It took me so long due to the traffic jam and the cabby asked me 18 $ even though the meter showed 13 $ only. He said additional $5 was charged for 'peak hour'. OOPS!

In our country we pay depending on the destination, not by time. So like that - even short trip we must pay a lot if the driver drives very slowly and stops some more at traffic.

From IMM to NTU? Ride bicycle la. It's free of petrol and fee! :D

Their car and petrol is cheap enough to own a private car. And they have no such thing call ERP!

last sat peak hour, one foreign worker at jur point loaded his stuff and got in my cab…

thought he is going to say jur port or tuas… but he said pasir ris elias mall…

my eyes opened big and straight away whacked the highway liao…$41…

then immed at downtown east, one couple with baby said go yew tee… my eyes tears dropped… hahaha

OH, well well well, ok! I am never complaint one. I post this topic just for dicussion and not meant for complaint or criticism. What i mean "DAY LIGHT ROBBERY" is "very expensive" and not that what you think "hijack" or "something worse".

but I feel very painful when all ppl said like that. I'm not serious about this. If I never post this topic, I forget this taxi fare already and it is no prob for me. I will take taxi again if i need. and normally If i'm very curious about something , I never come to forum and post the topic. I google it and research it. my opinion is on the taxi driver point of view. headline looked fault is on taxi side, my explanation is that not so cheapo just doing this for that extra income, as mention "DAY LIGHT ROBBERY" is wrong... so just make a correction and let you know of your ignorant. ya. let it be....

Last week when i was still in Singapore, two of my mates from hk came down to Singapore for business as they are working for an auditing company. So another mate and myself took them out for a detour around Singapore, we caught a cab where a china guy was driving and he overcharged us over a short distance. It was from Chinatown to Little India, at first it was like $4 and it suddenly went up to $13 (he actually went in circles) and my hk mate noticed that got pissed and starting shooting vulgar words at the china guy. He told us to stop nagging, so we got our ride for free =)
