Use EZ link to pay for your SMRT cab
fares

Come next month, commuters will be able to use their EZ Link
cards to pay for their cab fares on board SMRT taxis.
About 600 of its fleet of 3,000 taxis will be installed with the
card reader first, with the rest progressively installed with the
readers by March next year.
SMRT is the first taxi operator to allow the use of EZ link
cards to be used in cabs.
Other forms of payment include credit cards and cash.
The company says the new reader will allow the passenger to
check for the balance in the ez link card before he pays for the
fare.
However, GIRO-linked cards will not be accepted.
An administrative charge of 10 cents for each transaction will
be waived until 2010.
