The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has released revised rates for Electronic Road Pricing (ERP)-priced roads and expressways that will take effect from February 4th onwards.

Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE)

CTE Gantry North of Braddell Road

7.00am - 7.30am $0.50 $1.00

Pan-Island Expressway (Adam Road)

8.00am - 8.30am       $0.50          $1.00

Orchard (9 gantries), YMCA & Fort Canning Tunnel gantries (Weekdays)

7.00pm - 7.30pm      $0.50          $1.00
7.30pm - 8.00pm      $0.50          $1.00

Orchard (9 gantries), YMCA & Fort Canning Tunnel gantries (Saturdays)
                         Current rate    New rate
5.30pm - 6.00pm      $0.50          $1.00
6.00pm - 6.30pm      $0.50          $1.00

Motorcyclists can expect to pay $0.15 - $0.25 more, while heavy goods vehicles and buses will pay between $0.75 and $1 more.

The LTA reviews traffic conditions quarterly, as well as during the June and December school holidays.

Voted for them , yet kena this type of torture ? Why vote ? Just throw the vote into the dustbin la next elections .

First they up the MRT/Bus fare .....

Then they jack up taxi fare ...

Then they made u packed the buses and MRT like a tin of sardines , still lan lan must squeeze , cos taxi fare expensive ma .

Or buy a car lor .... then they whacked u COE , follow by road-taxes , follow by ERP , then lots of parking summons .

Because why ?

Cos u voted for them , they can do what they want . Up minister pay , cover-up those lost money to Indonesia . Etc .

They say they will let go more (8%) COE , cheap cheap $10,000 , then when most people chiong buy cars , then they slowly jack the COE to $20,000 , then they say : "U bidded ma ! "

Aiyo ... if i am a millionaire , i surely fuck-off to Australia become a taxi driver there !

another basket garmen move ..... diesel taxes reduced less 15% .... but never go straight into rental , instead goes into cabby's Medisave ( which cannot be taken out forever ) .

Nevermind la , the garmen like beggar now , just give them the money , since they so hard-up for the $$$ .

Anyway medisave i die die will utilised , don't let me find those loop-holes . I will left $0.10 inside my account for those beggars . They deserved only $0.05 , but i give them $0.10 , so that they can earn millions fro me .

The bast*** garmen only can dig GST , medisave and ERP from us .

$95-$82 = $12.40 daily

$12.40 x 30 days .... i expect to see $372 goes into my account every month .

ERP gantries are up, many in the heart of residential areas.

The gantries are in Upper Bukit Timah Road (outside Hume Park), Toa Payoh Lorong 6, Upper Boon Keng Road, Kallang Bahru Road and Geylang Bahru Road.

Why Residential areas are been targeted. Going out from residential to town you pay, coming back to residential you pay.

E...(everyday) R...(rob) P...(people) really too much.

Have u guys read the whole of Minister Lim's speech in Straits Times?

He said:

Expected increase in revenue from ERP: $70million a year

Reduce in revenue due 15% road tax and 10% AFT : Close to $200million.

Imply ERP is not meant as a way for Government to generate revenue. The Government truely desired to use 'ERP to solve traffic congestion.'

Then he added that such drastic increase in ERP fares is due to the increasing vehicle population and shortage of land for building more roads. He said in a subtle way that ERP is Singaporeans' fault as we want our own vehicles.

Key point: As traffic congestion continues, more and more gantries will be built and higher increment in ERP fares.

ERP helps more S'poreans to own cars: Minister

Responding to a question for written reply in Parliament on Monday, Transport Minister Raymond Lim said this is reflected in the growth of Singapore's car population from 680,000 in 1997 to 800,000 in 2006.

THE use of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) has made it possible for more Singaporeans to own cars.
Responding to a question for written reply in Parliament on Monday, Transport Minister Raymond Lim said this is reflected in the growth of Singapore's car population from 680,000 in 1997 to 800,000 in 2006.

Dr Fatimah Lateef, MP for Marine Parade GRC, had asked the Minister if the ERP scheme has met the objectives that it was meant to achieve and if it has improved the traffic flow on expressways especially during peak hours.

In his reply, Mr Lim said since its implementation in 1998, ERP has been effective in maintaining average travel speeds on priced roads within the optimal speed range through regular reviews and rate adjustments. For example, average speeds on the expressways have remained at above 45km/h during peak hours.

"The use of ERP to manage traffic has made it possible for more Singaporeans to own cars than we otherwise could, and our vehicle population has grown from 680,000 in 1997 to 800,000 in 2006," he added.

"It has also allowed the Government to rely more on car usage charges and less on car ownership taxes to manage traffic demand, and as a result, vehicle ownership taxes have been reduced. "

The Ministers said the government will continue with a holistic and integrated approach using all the tools available to keep the roads smooth-flowing. These include building more roads, regulating vehicle growth, implementing traffic engineering solutions, managing traffic demand through ERP and promoting the use of public transport.
