i thk fewer than 5 years ago, there are probably just the nissan
(dont know what model), toyota crown, merz limo that is
operating..
but nowadays, there seems to be so many different brands of vehicle
as taxi! u still have the nissan, crown, merz.. then u have the
hyundai, ssanyong (that big big gold color smrt cab), toyota wish,
volkswagen, subaru imprezza, then u have the pickups and mini vans,
honda airwave etc etc etc..
how come the authorities just approve any vehicle to be registered
as taxi? esp the private operators. its hard to distinguish the cab
from far as they look so much similar to a normal family car driven
around. and owners of this models must be cursing that they are
driving a "taxi" as its the same model.. then again, tourists may
be confused also..
in bangkok, hong kong and even msia, the taxis are normally just
1-2 models.. this make tourist who travel there to better locate
the taxi, not just by color, but model too..
