That’s is the main different between HK and Singapore, I’ve
driven both cabs in HK and Singapore, and in HK, you need to have a
cab that’s the size of a crow/ cedric, if you use a smaller
vehicle, like Nissan Sunny, Mitsu Lancer, and Toyota Corolla/
Corona, the passenger will not want to ride on it, cause they think
it’s unsafe (this is why 4 seaters have been gone since early
1990’s), well, usually at the weekdays, average # of passenger is
around 2-3 in a cab, but @ weekend, it can easily go to 5, that’s
why they have the center seats…and because of stop and go traffic
in HK, they decided to add A/T as standard, when switching to
LPG taxi from diesel, so far, there’s only 1
Diesel cab in hk, it’s made in 1993, a Toyota Crown…other taxi’s
average age is about 2 years…cause after 3-4 years they are heading
for scrap yard…
