This thread is specially for us to share bits and pieces of Singapore taxis in the past.

Some facts I have here:

1) In the 1990s, there are Opel stationwagons for Comfort Taxis

2) Again, in the 1990s, Toyota Corona are mainstay of Comfort Taxis. Now, only a few of them are still plying on Singapore's roads.

3) I think the "oldest" taxi stand in Singapore was in Tanjung Pagar KTM Station (built in 1932).

last time our taxi the gear is located on the left side of steering wheel. in hong kong, they are still using it.

I remember Singapore Commuter, SBS Taxis, & SABS Taxi Service merged in 1995 to form Citycab.

Also, Tibs (now SMRT) Taxis started out in 1990 with Singapore's first London cab. They were the first operator not to use the Coronas as its main fleet.

and HK taxi are not all but one using LPG and Auto column shift too, also, almost all the newer toyota Crown comfort (crown MK III) has ABS and Alloy Wheels standard.
