Ya la , that's why la , so many taxis now , hard to earn , in time when taxi is in demand , time to whack , taxi driver sure whacked one , don't whack , wait for what ? X'mas ar ?

Com'on la people , City area from 8.30pm onwards , we don't take call , meaning we dunno that $4.00 , funny right ? So must take call , extra money ma .

See .... the difference ......

Normal street pick : Flag-down $2.40 only

Booking Job : Flag Down $2.40 + $4.00 booking = $6.40

$6.20 against $2.40 ?????? Big difference u know ?

Give you all a tips la ..... when waiting for taxi ... anywhere , look out for those taxis on the road ..... if there is more of taxi "on-call" than "taxi" , don't wait , take a bus or MRT or walk .... don't wait if you are in a rush (if you dun wan to call ) .

In cases when taxi cannot be seen after ten minutes , where the taxi Q not moving at all , be ready to wait for a long wait , and frustrated .

This usually happen in those Commercial area , and Orchard area , and those Tekka area at night , if no luck , u can wait up to 1.5 hrs for a cab !

But once after 11.30pm , taxi service will be resume to normal . Mr. Green

In Singapore , not all area have taxi crisis .....

In the morning between 7.00 am til 10am , those problem area is Hougang Sengkang ... Ponggol .... CCK , Bt PJ , Bt Batok , Wland , Sembawang , Yishun.... Seranggon Ave area ... Lor Chuan area .....Serangoon garden area .....

The more nearer to town , the lesser taxi problem is .

Problem always area further from town .

Why ? I can't explain , maybe most people in the morning go town , if all taxi go town , where got taxi left ? 'Cos most people rush to work at the same time .

My record : My first customer always a booking customer . 100 % unchange scenario . I never pick on the street .

No way I'm going to say "no! " to extra $4.00 .

Comfort = estimate 12,000 taxis
Yellow-Top = estimate 5,000 taxis
CitryCab = Estimate 8,000 taxis
TranScab = 2500 taxis
Smart = 600
Silver = 800
SMRT = 7000

Taxi will never be enough at certain time ... like morning 7.00am til 9am .... and 5pm til 10.30 pm at city area . Excluding Fridays !

I once again emphasis , at 8.30pm til 11pm , most office worker once work overtime , their companies will pay for the cab fare , and they will defeintely call , 'cos their companies want them to go home early ,anyway only $4.00 extra , for a MNC , $4.00 is peanuts .

Nowadays taxi never hide , Taxi never hide during this time , no need to hide !

Once we hit town , booking customers is the priority , taxi stand customer have to wait !

Those who pay more , will get a cab .

Those who do not want to pay more , they just have to wait !

Well , some taxi drivers are like that , some don't ! Majority won't be so Lor-Lan one .

If base on current diesel prices , and base on the differences against buses and MRT , $1.50 is unrealistic .

Taxi company are in more trouble if prices lower to your rate . Cos who want to drive ? Taxi company sure stuck with a lot of taxis .

Actually , the most ideal flag down is $3.40 .

If i'm not wrong .... this scenario will happen around 10pm at night , especially if that driver know where you're going , like Woodland , if can , taxi driver always choose not to go woodland , sure kana vacant all the way til town .

Of all places , woodland is a place driver least wanted to go .

Use "Speed call" maybe can work better .

Comfort has so many taxis. Heard some drivers said that there are tons of Comfort taxis parking at Sin Ming Road that waiting for new drivers to drive. Is that true?

True ah !

Not only Sin Ming , Sin Ming's space not enuf to contain 1,200 un-rented taxis .

Shaw Tower carpark also got plenty .

Tuas area some ware-house also got .

Cahngi also got .

Pandan area also got .

Now what ComfortDelgro counter this problem is to scrap those 4-yr-old and above taxis , took back some COE rebate , and replace them with newer Crown , cheaper COE .

Newer taxi means good chance of rented out .

And now it works , along with better driver benefits .

In fact , CityCab implemented the "scrap" policy first , at that time , Comfort still in a healthy position , CityCab was quite ill , til now , still quite ill with the "Taxi no taker" problem , if you go MaryMount CityCab Head-Office , you'll see many taxis return to CityCab .

Then with the "Drivers' Benefit" scenrio kept changing , drivers' turnover increase day by day ...... then eventually Comfort's fleet got hit with "no-taker" problems .

Comfort's fleet is the oldest , taxi averagely age 4 yrs old , sure got problem , other taxi company average age 1+ , they saw the problem coming , and are curbing the problems .

this statement pretty unfair..wad happen to those people, like elderlys who can't afford that extra booking fee..

and yeah hor.. Comfort vehicles all quite old.. see so many crowns with the old livery, not to forget the 6 year old Coronas. And the nissan cedrics seemed to have been withdrawn from the scene already? left one or two comfort cedrics now..
