Taxis Stands at Shopping Centres

Every shopping centres has a Taxi Stand and last time, there was a thing which was placed at taxi stands to let commuters to press the destination and share a cab. After a few years the system was removed. Do you all think this system is useful as in you all press your destination and share a cab with a stranger.

Also there's one outside Parco Bugis Jn (near EWL MRT exit) in the past.

Finally, it would depend on if the passenger is hygiene-conscious, and safety.

Becos sometimes if share a cab and got strangers then safety is a big qn mark.

But in all it is not useful due to safety, hygiene, and one more thing --- hard to find some strangers heading with that pax to that same destination.

But if not remember wrong, there is EDS showing the desired destination.

When this thing was in service, I've never used it, and I've never seen it in use all the times I've been in queue, so no I don't think it was very useful Confused

Safety - you talking about molesting and robbing?
Hygiene - i bet you buses are worst in terms of hygiene. Taxis are sitted by so many people.. Whats there to talk about hygeine? 2 people cannot share the same seat at the same time right?

EDS showing destination is the final place the cabby is heading before changing shift.

Anyway, i dont see this Share a cab thing anymore. Last saw it at Centrepoint and Lucky Plaza area.

LTA implement this a few yrs back , but taxi driver not interested , earn less , so due to not much support from cabbies , they withdrew .

Most taxi driver hate to go 2 or more destinations ! Unless you lucky see one Charity-driver !
