The story follows Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo as they wander over to
Las Vegas to pursue the American Dream. Loaded with a trunk of
drugs in the big white Cadillac (the Big White Whale), the pair
fall into a drugged paranoia and descend into lunacy.
Within the book, it is rife with imagery of the drug culture of the
US when hop of the 60s became the cynicism of the 70s. And a lot of
others people are starting to discover with each re-read of the
book.
