During the war of Iraq and U.S
there was a family of three happily
living together in their country-side hut when the son was called
upon by the army to fight the war
the son was more than willing to leave behind the aged parents and
fulfill the war in the name of Lord and Duties
..
Came the day, the son happily packed his bag and his mum was in all
tears to see her son leave
..
Gone were 1 month and there was about 2 4 safety calls
home
.
Gone were 3 months and there was no response from the army to the
aged parents
..
Gone were 6 months and the parents are in despair as they watch the
news of bombs and bodies in Iraq
.
Came one day when the 2 elderly was watching the T.V news reporting
that Saddam was caught
..
The phone rang
.
Helo, mum
is it you??!!! The background sound was extremely
noisy
..pzzzzzzzzzz
..zzzz..zzzz
The mother was harping with joy when at the very moment she could
recognise the very voice of her dear son
..
Sobbing
. yes
. ss
..my dear child
.r u alright
.are u coming
home now
The son oh mum
.i am fine, the war is over and I will be coming
home
..i miss all you and dad

hope you are fine and

The mother we are very fine

joy falling from the cheek

I have a soul mate with me

during the whole fight and he protected me when there are bombs and
gunshots towards me

he is my best pal and best partner in my whole journey througout
this war

he was injured
.he was handicapped because of me
..he can only
walk with one leg
.he has only one arm

only see with one eye
..he can only hear with one ear
..i need to
take care
of him
.he was my saviour

..we cant have this
person with us

he is a poor child
.but we are happy with our life in this
house
..we do not wan to have any others
..
especially if he is handicap and he cant even look after
himself
..we will not be able to look after him
..
we cant possibly feed him
..walk him
..wash him
..every now and
then

.maybe the
U.S army will plan something for this kid and it would be better
for him instead of staying with us
..
we are old and aged
.we dont have the energy and strength to take
care of someone like that

At the other end of the phone, paused and quiet

the
phone went dead

The next day
.the aged parents went happily to the U.S Army
Headquarters to check out the sons schedule
and awaits for the beloved son to come home with them
..
They waited at the Lobby and was told that the troop flight will be
back later in the night
..they waited
and waited
to see their only child
..
Came midnight and the troop was back for reporting
.there were no
sight of their child
.they checked helplessly with
the officer in charge of the troop
.
Officer replied:oh
..my lord
may God Bless You
.and handed them
an envelope
..
In the envelope was a letter and it read :-
Dear Mum and Dad,
I am sorry
.i do not wan to burden you
.i was heavily injured and
was bombed on the 1st month during the war
.i was hospitalised for 6 months and doctor managed to get me back
on life but my right side of the body was
badly burned, cut and sew and I cant move my limbs anymore
.i have
to eat with one arm
.walk with one leg
.
see with one eye
..hear with one ear
.i cant wash and clean
myself
..i cant bear to let 2 aged parents look
after me for the rest of my life
.so I decided to leave
The picture accompanied with the letter was a gunshot pic of the
son committing suicide just after a phone call
he made in the guard room yesterday
..
