depends on which god you asking. if i not wrong
bhuddist think its right to inherit consequences. thus you have the
sins of father visited on son.
christians apparently do to cos they for some reason assume all are
sinner and thus worthy of punishment if nto for some
intervention.
not sure about other religions though
