2006 Turin Winter Olympics, building sites block the roads that
criss-cross the Alps, workers are digging up town squares, and
empty concrete shells are waiting to be turned into souvenir shops.
Turin's organising committee, TOROC, has proudly declared that
construction of the Olympic venues, such as the ski jumps, the
bobsleigh track and cross-country loop, is almost finished.
