Russian trawlers are flouting cod quotas in the Arctic in a threat
to the last major stock of the fish, the WWF environmental group
said on Friday. It said figures based on Russia's own accounting
indicated that Russian trawlers were catching 70,000-115,000 tonnes
a year more than the 480,000 ton quota set for the entire Barents
Sea under a 50-50 shareout between Russia and Norway. (FILE/Dick
