In pictures: Aceh moves towards peace

Rebels in the Indonesian province of Aceh are preparing to hand in their weapons under a peace deal to end decades of fighting.

The Free Aceh Movement (Gam) rebels have agreed to give up hundreds of weapons by the end of this year.

The Indonesian government will match the rebels' disarmament by gradually withdrawing troops.

The peace process is being monitored by international observers.

Some rebels are already packing up their mountain camps and heading home.

For those that have not seen their relatives for years, it is a time to look to the future.
