ooh, sounds like our SRC, except we dont have issues with fees (we are a private institution anyway), so our SRCs organise events, free stuff, create clubs and societies

from an outsider POV, and comparing to my school and and at this rate of fees hike, might as well NUS be a private institution wholly out of control of the government, because everything begin to look similar

If the administration chooses to treat its students this way, they can jolly well shelve their talk and whining about why there isn't a substantial amount of funding coming in from the alumni.

American universities were funded by philantrophists and they had enough money to pay the way for needy but brilliant American students, who would naturally feel grateful in their working lives to pay back to society what was given. Is this kind of philantrophy existent here? No.

It's not just FASS...it's really many parts of NUS which seem to be in need of major paintwork, repairs and at the very least, improvements wrt shelters!

Hell...the rainy season is here and they should just go around to see where needs to be improved...

Instead, the admin does paperwork...waste time...do something useful mans.

For your side, can understand. The fees are so much different.

Problem here is the ethics behind it, and the lack of accountability to the end-user.

I checked mine liao. No discrepancies, only that MOE grant increased for my current sem. Okay, maybe I shall add I got take TFL as well.

Anyway, not to say I like fee increases, but the truth is that they only cared about the bottomline. As I added, once I got what I wanted, I kiss my goodbyes. Laughing

And how do they justify the need for increased costs when:-
1) my lecturer does not speak good English
2) lecturer is not helpful in answering ur queries and brushes u off
3) lecturers seem to be slacking and then *pow* they give u ultimate blows for ur exams
4) facilities are in a complete mess (look at LT7A's chairs...WOW! Then look at LT7, smells of urine sometimes? Look at Sci fac...geez!)
5) and many many more...
