Cancel transaction after funds transfer

I've already made funds transfer to an account through ibanking, but can I go to the bank and ask them to cancel the transaction? Do I need to give any reasons? Thanks for any help.

What kind of transfer?

It differs from one kind to another kind....

For instance, transferring to another bank overseas in another country usually takes a more circuitous route.

But in any case, I dont think you can do it now, it's too late already.

It's actually from POSB to POSB account, 'cos I decided to back off the transaction since the seller is MIA.

I just went to read up on the DBS website FAQ.

I have transferred money to the wrong account. How do I attempt to recover the funds?

First, delete the wrong payee that you had set up. Then go to the nearest branch immediately to sign a form to recover the funds. Please provide our staff at the branch with the following information:

We will then attempt to help you retrieve the funds which were transferred to the wrong account.

u can try tho. i did a wrong trf once n called up the bank saying i made a mistake and they cxl my transaction. if ur's is a con case, go to the police and tell them u made a payment but no goods received. give the police the acct number u transferred ur $$$ to. they will do the rest.

I dunno if it's considered a con case yet, but I decided not to deal with the seller when I google her email and saw that she's blacklisted before by other ppl.

Maybe I'll try the bank first and see how. Thanks.

Dunno.. See how first. Never encountered deadseller before. How can a person go MIA right after I made payment? So irresponsible.

ya.. after i transferred funds to her through ibanking and emailed her about it, she went MIA from yesterday till now. i seriously hope it's not con lor.. waste of my time and money.

1) 2mrw, u go to the nearest branch and retrieve ur $$$$. dun wait anymore. for all u know, she might draw it out n run away. i mean, u'll nv know.

2) wait for another 1 day for her reply. ytd, today, 2mrw. 3 days. by 2mrw she dun reply ur email, go to the police.

even if u order smtng from online shop, they usually reply u within 48 hrs.

Anyway thanks for ur advice. Shall not go to the police yet but go to the bank first and try to retrieve my money back. If not possible, I may report to the police if she doesn't reply me back.

depend on the timing of the transaction cos banks got cut off time for transactions one. if u do funds transfer now at this hour, its not effected yet cos there is no one to authorise the transfer. if u got I-banking acc, just send in secured message to cancel ur transaction, or call in their 24-hr hotline to cancel, its faster. I think there are charges for cancellation of charges though. pls refer to their tariffs. tell the agent who took your call to callback after transaction is cancelled.
