I am writing in to appeal to the authorities to consider tearing
down ION Orchard in favour of constructing an artificial beach,
Orchard Beach.
The following are my arguments:
(1) There are no centrally located beaches in Singapore, and
most are inaccessible by MRT. Those who wish to enjoy the scenery
at the beach have to travel long distances, hence worsening traffic
congestion and incurring the loss of labour hours.
(2) Building a beach will reduce Singapore's average
temperature. With the threat of global warming looming, Singapore
should do its part.
(3) ION Orchard has become obsolete, since Iluma at Bugis can
take over its role as a glassy and ostentatious urban shopping
mall. ION Orchard also pales in comparison to the Esplanade, whose
architecture is similar, but with additional spikes to deter other
countries from invading Singapore.
(4) The lights at ION Orchard are too glaring at night. This may
portray an image of arrogance to tourists and tarnish our
international reputation.
While there may be short-term costs, I believe that they will be
offset by the long-term benefits in terms of the convenience
Orchard Beach will bring to residents, our contribution to reducing
global temperatures (however minimal), as well as the re-imaging of
Singapore. Even if the economic benefits of building Orchard Beach
are dubious, in life we should adopt a broader perspective and not
simply be concerned about material wealth, but emotional and
spiritual fulfillment too. Hence, the authorities should seriously
consider my proposal.

1) why would you call a beach, "a beach"?
Beach : a
shore of a body of water covered by sand, gravel, or larger rock
fragments
Where you wanna get that body of water? Make an artificial sea
or bay is it? Orchard Sea or Orchard River ah?
2) What the hell has having a beach got to do with global
warming? Making a beach reduces temperature? 
How come i feel so hot everytime i go to the
beach?
3) You were talking about beaches now you are talking about
architecture? Make up your mind, woman!
4) Maybe during the xmas celebrations, the decorations should
just use candy canes and snowmen?
While there
may be alot of trolling in your posts, I believe that they will be
offset by laughter garnered by your nonsensical and ludicrous posts
in terms of the stress levels currently our economic climate will
bring to the forum residents, our contribution to reducing trolls
like you (however minimal), as well as the re-imaging of SGForums.
Even if the irrationality and hogwash benefits of having you around
still, are dubious, in life we should adopt a broader perspective
and not simply be concerned about having just +1 or ignoring
totally but emotional and spiritual fulfillment too. Hence, the mod
or admin should seriously consider having TS around.
