ndmmxiaomayi SG

Shocked

A few thousands for a poster?

Printing on gold paper or printing in gold? Laughing

hisoka SG

how big is the poster??

have you met a vendor who tried to ask you to spend money to buy more expensive and he admitted was not needed and then told you to buy because spending money was fun? Laughing

ndmmxiaomayi SG

He's nuts. Laughing

the Bear SG

ahhh.. you guys don't know..

the design and all that of a poster costs a lot... a heck of a lot!

thing is, the design is already there, they did the design for us a couple of years ago... we paid them a lot of money to design the thing and printed a lot of A4 and A3 sized posters for distribution to certain places..

now we need one hard, big A1-sized one.... they tell us they don't have the softcopy of the design anymore and must start from scratch, costing a couple of thousand bucks...

of course i'm not going for it..

they think we radish head izzit? Mad

Laughing

ndmmxiaomayi SG

They apparently think so, since they are working for the government. Laughing

hisoka SG

Laughing

you guys never kept the soft copy?

A1 printing alone is not exp de just use the soft copy go those printing shops like at paradiz or something lor

the Bear SG

unfortunately, unlike some bigwigs, we're tight-fisted here..

it is a sacred duty to safeguard the $$$ which is not ours...

goodness knows i trod on many toes when i was my rec club treasurer.. i stressed out the president by arguing with him and putting my foot down on idiotic throwing away of the club members' money for frivolous things..

oh well... i have to write a paper today..

don't know how, but i have to.. Razz

the Bear SG

since this was done by someone else, i will wait for the colleague to come in during the afternoon to ask her..

if we have kept the softcopy, i'm going to another printer Wink

hisoka SG

truth is if she didn't, i think she might need to get screwed.

and you might consider scanning in a copy of the old posters.

anyway replicating a poster shouldn't cost as much as designing one and i really doubt they don't have the soft copy at the design company

the Bear SG

like i said, they think we radish head..

see if we have the softcopy.. if have, they're not getting the business.. we have a printer we usually use which is walking distance from the office.. which is good coz whatever they come up with, they usually walk over and ask us if it's okay.. then we do the amendments on the spot and they go change it...

a lot faster than vendors from the other side of singapore

BadzMaro SG

wow.. he he..

not bad la.. being treasurer means trusting all the money to u. High regards for u ma~ Thats why u are treasurer n not the rest of the ppls~

the Bear SG

no man.. it was/is a job no one wants.. usually used as a political tool in the organisation to see if the person is "easy or hard" in order to "gauge" his value to the bigwigs...

ever since that treasurer stint, where i laid down the law and refused to budge on nonsensical spending, the bigwigs have had a negative view of me..

i'm considered "hard to work with, negative, combatative.." you know.. the usual stuff they consider anyone who is not a bootlicker for them Laughing

BadzMaro SG

my uncle politician holds treasurer post at the party... even though a minister of 2 departments , they put him as treasurer~ i know what u mean la.. but knowing u are treasurer means they have great faith in u.. u have rights over where n what does the money do or if its feasible..

man.. what to do , maybe ur hardline styled is useful in a proper working environment n not at where alot of bootlicking is needed. But not necessarily lo~

BadzMaro SG

*me senses that The Bear wont go far in the political scene*

he he...~~ unless u are some muslim cleric in a muslim state~ Laughing ur hardliner tatics will work ~ LOL!

the Bear SG

like i said, it wasn't anything to do with faith.. they were looking for someone to rubberstamp their frivolous spending..

i wasn't about to go into that..

always drilled down to the first principles.. "what is this rec club for? who is this rec club for? "

and the "no.. no.. which part of NO did you not understand? "

kind of pissed a few people off Laughing

NekoRin SG
