instead of accepting it, do something about it...
a simple question: "can i see your police permit?" helps..
sometimes, the "uncorrupted hearts" add to the mess.. they never
question the asshats who take advantage of these volunteers... i
know of an incident... i donated.. but the list of "things to raise
funds for 4 weeks" kept growing and the 4 weeks became 6 weeks..
and became 8 weeks...
i asked.. i think the volunteer went back to ask and they were
never seen again..
