Har... Alex, here is an extract from a daily news press...
Malaysia has decided to stockpile the anti-viral drug oseltamivir
to prepare itself for a possible bird flu outbreak, a health
official said Saturday.
Oseltamivir, known commercially as Tamiflu, is the only treatment
proven to be effective against bird flu in humans.
Malaysia will obtain the drug from the Swiss pharmaceutical company
Roche Holding AG soon, but the quantity has yet to be decided, said
Ramlee Rahmat, director of disease control at the Health
Ministry.
We are in the process of acquiring the drug as a precaution
against any outbreak, Ramlee told The Associated Press. He said
details of the stockpile would be made known later.
