Hi Guys, Have not been in this forum for ages, however I've
decided to come here to start a discussion with you guys cause I
became bored talking to myself.
Recently I heard about South Korea having to "turn the lights out"
so that employees can go home early to make babies, therefore
increasing the overall birth rate of the country. Some people have
asked and suggested whether Singapore should do the same. While I
do realise that would be a potential solution to partially solving
the low birth rate crisis in Singapore, I'm curious as to whether
it is the married couples that plan not to have kids that is the
problem, or the lack couples in the first place.
Singapore is still in some way a conservative society. While I
do notice many couples out in the streets in Singapore, I begin to
wonder the others, singles that choose not to socialise or are just
afraid/shy of meeting someone new. Have you ever sat in a bus, or
watch a movie, or just be doing anything in public, suddenly
noticing a member of the opposite sex that happen to stare at back
at you while you notice them. While you find them highly appealing
or attractive, you find the lack of approach due to that
"invisible" barrier that prevents you from conversing for whatever
particular reason. Yes, you do know that it would do you good if
you knew that person despite being complete strangers, however the
lack of initiative have maintained the two of you to become
strangers. Right about now, I guess it is the singles(if any here)
that are still reading onwards. I guess my point is, and maybe it
is just be me thinking this way, on why do humans have this lack of
initiative to do something that might do them good. While fear and
inexperience might narrowly suffice the lack of intiative, what do
you guys think? ( if i'm not talking complete rubbish at this stage
already)
