Sounds like u have a decent scanner so mebbe u wanna check on ur
settings. Try scanning at 150 to 300dpi, photo reflective, noise
reduction quality at "Best".
Personally, I find that scanning from within Photoshop helps with
the quality as there are a lot of other detailed settings that you
can manage in addition to your default setting for the scanner.
