dustychelsea SG The purpose a spoiler is to reduce air movement across the body during high speed motion. This can decrease drag coefficient and improve the stability of the vechicle in high speed. As of decreasing drag coefficient which could improve fuel efficiency at high speed. In addition this increase the aerodynamic drag with the square of speed. Therefore, a vehicle with substantially better aerodynamics will be much more fuel efficient. This is wat I learn in School as Im in the Automotive Technology course, so thats why I get to know all this stuff
alleggerita SG Hmm..but it depends..Some spoilers are meant to reduce drag and help improve fuel efficiency..but there are also other kinds of spoilers that help to glue the car to the tarmac when it's being driven fast..those kind of spoilers that help increase downforce are not fuel efficient..it makes the car sips more fuel..
