if u are looking at maintenance.. then manual is obviously easier and cheaper to maintain....

Allow my humble opinion.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I think manual car can be more fuel efficient than auto one for some reason.

Also, auto is less fun for those who really like to drive.
Auto is good for singapore roads where nowadays, you can experience traffic congestion even on expressways at 4pm onwards, for some unexplanable reason.

Will ERP extend its reach and operating hours and fees?

I also have been keeping time of traffic lights turning from Red to Green. Whether there is something wrong about the timing nowadays. Wink

Cool Generally, Manual car are cheaper then auto by 2 - 4 k minimum by price. Manual, you will have to change gear fequently if you are in a traffic jam, auto just drive.

Performance can be about the same depending on car. Fuel consumption depend on engine and car body weight.

auto usually drink more petrol. and higher maintenance. and have laggy response. and less control over the car.

but when jams occur, its heaven.... Embarassed

yes yes yes... its true.. cos when going up hill carrying heavy things, auto cars the gear will not switch to the next higher gear until u have enough speed which means floor more and more fuel burnt

while manual you can choose to chg to 3rd or whichever gear.... But if the speed is not enough will cause vibration la... but usually not much harm la..

for a person who drags out the gears and is lazy with shifting, the fuel consumption may be higher for the manual transmission... i know my dad is one of them...

myself, there is no noticable difference in either type of transmission.. in fact, once you've had enough experience in manual transmission, you forget and everything is second nature...

you go into an auto transmission car, you just drive the same way anyway...

Your left hand is already useful as you still need it to change gear when using auto.

Anyway, you can make your left foot useful as well by learning to brake with left foot. Pros like Ruben Barichello brake with left foot.

my personal car is auto. at my work i drive manual. I drive both.

at times..to be practical..in singapore roads now...auto is best due to its traffic. but manual if u are up for like experience..go for it. left hand useful or not nothing concerns dude. to me auto better due to can hold girlfren's hand while driving hahaha.

of course..if i have a sports car like i do last time...i prefer manual.

and yes..manual easier to maintain. it doesnt matter anyway to me... haha

i prefer manual cause can use engine break, but hor if i am having a jam on a upslope, i think my leg will get cramp if i am driving manual.

if u notice most carpark are located at B1 so if there is a jam at the exit, hor sey lar
