When I was single, I didn't need to buy anybody gifts and I
could hit on who I please, but I felt lonely. Everything I did was
for myself, or at most my family.
I prefer being attached. I enjoy knowing that somebody loves me,
and I find meaning in building a relationship and its associated
trust, and being there for her through every cheer and whine. I
have someone to share (at least part of) my life with, and I know
the feeling songwriters and poets celebrate in their works.
