SINGAPORE: A water pipe at Braddell MRT station burst above a
train door opening at the platform on Tuesday (Oct 20). Train
services were not affected.
As of 2.45pm on Tuesday, the second last Platform Screen Door of
the south-bound platform was not in operation. The area above it
was exposed, and SMRT staff were present to guide commuters to
enter and exit via another door.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, SMRT said that a water pipe
above one of the Platform Screen Doors at the south-bound side of
Braddell MRT Station was "damaged by contractors" on Tuesday
morning.
"Our station staff immediately cordoned off the affected door
and diverted the water flow from the pipe," said Mr Patrick Nathan,
SMRT Vice President for Corporate Information & Communications.
"Train services were not affected. We are investigating the matter
and will work on the damaged pipe tonight."
