From the Facebook page "Land Transport Authority – We Keep Your World
Moving":
Hey folks, here’s an update on the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High
Speed Rail (#HSR) project!
In a joint effort to seek views and sound out market interest in
the project, Malaysia’s Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and
the Land Transport Authority (LTA) have launched a Request for
Information (RFI) exercise.
The RFI exercise marks the next chapter of our HSR journey, and
is designed as a consultation exercise to gain market sensing and
gather industry opinion on des...ignated commercial and technical aspects of the
project.
Benefits of the RFI exercise are twofold: Feedback gathered will
gauge market interest in the project, and seek views on the
different approaches so we can refine and validate our options
which will help ensure a successful tender process
subsequently.
The incoming HSR link will improve connectivity between Malaysia
and Singapore, and bring people of both countries closer together.
With terminus stations in Kuala Lumpur’s Bandar Malaysia and Jurong
East, the HSR aims to cut travel time between the two cities to 90
minutes.
Interested parties can visit www.lta.gov.sg/hsr for more
information. The RFI exercise is expected to complete by end of
2015.
