About 2,800 commuters were affected by a delay on the East-West
Line towards Pasir Ris during peak hour on Friday evening.
The delay, which started at 7.25pm and lasted 8 1/2 minutes, was
caused by a train fault.
An SMRT spokesman said passengers on an east-bound train were
asked to alight at City Hall MRT station due to a train fault.
To minimise the impact to other passengers and to maintain
east-bound train service, passengers on a west-bound train were
asked to alight at Bugis MRT station, so the train could turn
around and serve east-bound passengers, the spokesman said.
