For the closure I hope SBST will provide its DD as shutters, bendy arent enough..Cuz only LKS, CMT and BGB got crossover switching tracks

no photos here but I will share what I recall.

all pillars NB after the crossover you see above are completed. those SB from the crossover (along Jurong East Central) are being filled. quite a few are done already with only 3 or 4 left.

progress on the new segment of the station is coming along smoothly. the new platform and the concourse below now run about three quarters of the entire station length.

small sections of new tracks were lifted recently for those pillars running above Jurong East Bus Interchange.

I wonder how issit possible for the new viaducts and tracks to be connected to the existing ones while train service is still in operation.

yeah. the new platform seems to going on smoothly. EB trains are entering the station in CM, from what i see.

well, that's the challenge present there. the tracks can only be done after operating hours, which means it has only 1am to 5am for the works daily. also, they have to consider the noise level, since there are so many HDB blocks just beside the construction area.

They can do it after the train service has ended. The can prepared it first then after they remove the old track and put the new track on it. My guess only.

actually i can say that the pace of construction is going quite fast...though cannot end by end of this year, but could be able to start operation by Q2 2011.

to be honest nobody knows yet. seems no pictures are released. my guess is that it will look very much like an extension of the same station.

Definitely excited about the track.

The progress is very fast , and the extension is taking shape.

Have Pros and Cons about the extension of platform lor

During the Morning peak hour, the crowd will be spread on both sides of platform (East-Bound Train) ... Very jialat lor the morning peak hour.

I always go Boon Lay from either Jurong East/Bukit Batok, which means i have to go to the concourse to transfer to west bound train..

Last I recalled, they haven't created instant concrete and they don't speed up projects because of the whining of 1 person.
